About The Met
The Met is one of the world's largest and most comprehensive art museums, with over two million works spanning 5,000 years and cultures worldwide. Its vast collections include the Temple of Dendur (an ancient Egyptian temple), Botticelli's Annunciation, Rembrandt's Aristotle with a Bust of Homer, Emanuel Leutze's Washington Crossing the Delaware, and an extensive American Wing with period rooms. The Met's holdings encompass European paintings, Egyptian art, arms and armor, Asian art, and much more, making it a living encyclopedia of global art history.
